the end of w/mo mo/w?
So i love the update, but i have never been one to solo. so i was wondering, does the new changes (especially to the uw) mean that the HUGE amounts of w/mo and mo/w that are littered all over every outpost will now change? if you run 1 of these builds (for farming or otherwise) do you plan on changing your second profession now (that is, if you cant come up with a build to counter the changes i know a lot of you are smart like that )

W/MO will always be here since it is the easiest profession to play.
they were here from the start and will be here till the end

I made an W/Mo not to be picked in a group, but to use to make money for my other characters... Sure I lack the skills to solo FoW and UW or what ever all the great places are or were... But I can solo some other areas which will help in the money making.

As long as arenanet leave us at least some areas where we can play SOLO for a decent amount of gold, my W/Mo will stay the same.
For the time being, at least until my gold reserves are depleted, i will play my monk in the new areas.
I will however run out eventually. I have spent an insane amount on keys!
There is something about the word "guaranteed" when you open that chest, which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Edit - Indeed mavrik...you share the same philosophy as myself.

i agree, even though i know the item i get has a 99% chance of being less then what the key costs!

The Nerf to UW pisses me majorly off, but my monk will remain. She is healer monk anyway with a secondary existance as a farmer. I went for a solo run to UW mostly when none of my guildies were on to party with (I tend not to play with PUGs much due to negative experiences). I am angry that I can no longer do that and that ANet took away one of the different (and legit) ways to play GW for no real reason. That's all, nothing more, nothing less.

Nerf or Buff? I heard it's tougher, with enchant removals added and more critters.

I'll play this game as long as there are ways to go solo. On the moment I have to stick to a party with henchmen (or worse: pugs) its over and out for me. I have no time to hang around in outposts to gather a decent party, and I find no exitement in defeating a quest in some kind of mob. It makes me feel like a flock of deer escaping for a lion... You survive because the lion did not chose YOU as a victim. There's no honor in that! And given the fact that no one, no matter how much he/she farms, will ever get a superstrong chr, makes me really wonder why people make a problem of something that never did hurt them at all...

actually most of them are just not smart enough to play anything else, and those who are simply know how to play a Wa/Mo.
just play some random arena and enjoy WaMo Retardness.

You said it. I built a W/Mo to use a mule. Mostly for running.
My Mo/Me is for PvE because everyone wants a monk in thier group. With the new areas it takes no time to finbd a group.
My Me/E and N/Me are purely PvP characters.
I got burned out on my monk about half way through the game and started a Mesmer for something different. I finished the game with my Monk and retired her. I just brought her out of retirement for the Sorrow's Furnace stuff.

Oh my goodness, is this the start of seeing some more original builds?
we will still see them around.. just not doing much because they will be holding signs like "will dance for gold" and "insult me 100gp"
Id call this a shame, but i promised myself i would only use so much sarcasm in one day..

I have to question your motives on playing an MMO... a genre that traditionally encourages teamplay

i have to question your definition of mmo. anyway, i sorta agree...it was kinda cool the first 10 times to solo uw and whatever, but it gets boring.

While this isn't a traditional MMO, it certainly is a massive game, its multiplayer, and its online ^^

heh, the part i question is massively. i believe it describes multiplayer as an adjective...omg im giving and english lesson lol. but anyway, with 8 player groups, its certainly....different.
on the flipside, i like playing with real people, not henchies. it CAN be more aggravating, but more rewarding, as well.
as for solo, it was cool in the beginning cus you can kill without dying. but seriously, if you farm just so you can fill up your bank....well...um....ok. whatever suits you.

For me the M for multyplayer stands for: the abillity to interact and trade with other players, and to ocassionally join a team to beat a nasty level.
Gaming is escapism. After a day of working or studying many like to have some moments for themselves. This game has the content to offer that. But not if we are forced into the same community treadmill of comminucation addicts who can't leave their cellphone alone for 3 minutes because they feel insecure when they are not a part of a mob. The choice should always be a personal one. This game has everything to satisfy all of us. Than why limit those who find exitement in going solo? Again, it does not hurt anyone...

I dunno about this topic, I like playing solo but the times I've gone to UW with a GOOD party I've had more fun then doing solo runs, less profitable for sure but a lot more fun.
Good parties dont chatter incessantly, they take care of business and work together, not chitchat.
